‘Chunky, Fragile, Sticky, Sweet’ by Monja Hirscher exhibited at Avantgarden, Salzkammergut 2024.
Shaping liquids, thinking with weeds, food as a backdrop or backdrops for food, casting tin and pulling sugar. INK AND TREAT AND MOLDS AND HANDS showcases the process-oriented results of initially individual approaches to design questions that gradually evolve together. For a week in the former Carmelite convent, designers Eva Bullermann, Natascha Burk, Lena Hellmann, Monja Hirscher, Elisa Polner, and Nora Wilhelm immersed themselves in new techniques and materials, sharing expertise and weaving together ideas. The result is not finished objects, but rather the traces of their creation – everything that happens during the process.
